Spiritual Gifts

Matt and I just took a test to see what our spiritual gifts are.  You sort of know, but you want to see what an analysis will come up with. Matt has the gift of mercy, helps, leadership.  Where he works he needs these gifts. This was on a military blog site and we just took this for fun.

Mine came out shocking. Pastor, Faith Music, Teaching Encouragement and a few others. Pastor, that is the scary one. Up until a few years ago I didn't believe that women should be pastors.  I really think the test said that, because I tend to want to take care of everybody. Sometimes I see the youth and the kids at church and I just want to encourage them and help them.  Also I am the oldest child, there is something about being the oldest that makes you want to take care of everybody. To make sure they don't make the same mistakes you did. To encourage them, to nurture them.

Being a pastor is hard work and I am sure at times very frustrating and tiring work. There are other times it is rewarding work.  We need to pray for our pastors and those in leadership. They need it.

I have much to learn and still heal from.  Besides that I am still a somewhat timid person.  I know its hard to believe, but what happened to me has shook any confidence I had in any abilities that I may have. Its going to be a long road back.

In my position at work, I trained people, went to bat for them and encouraged them. When I needed someone to stand up for me they didn't. It hurt bad. There were times I could see what the enemy was doing, but I couldn't do anything about it. I just waited on God, and walked by faith

As I strive in my new life, it is a daily thing.  Today wasn't a good day at all. It has been dreary and dark and cold. I listened to music and worked on things I had to do around the house.  In talking to the Lord, I ask Him to lead me and guide my steps. I can't do anything without Him; I know that and He knows that I lean on Him all the time, as He orders my steps.
