May 21st???

I was reading "The Gospel Greats" newsletter in which Paul Heil talks about the possibility of the Lord's return on May 21st.  I am sure you have heard this on the talk and news shows.  We have had those predictions before. Remember "88 Reasons Why Christ Will Return in 1988"? There have been others as well.

People miss the point. Jesus is coming back for His church.  We can fuss and fume about the date. The fact is He is coming and we need to be ready.  The Bible says 'He will come like a thief in the night". You don't know when a thief is coming to rob your home. It happens and it happens so fast that its hard to process all of the information of what has happened. We need to be ready to meet the Lord at any time.  Are you ready?

We must do a little self-examining here; have we repented of things we have done? Have we obeyed God in doing our best? There are other questions we can ask ourselves. The main one is, "are we ready?" When He comes we won't have time to get things straight with whoever it is we flew off the handle with this morning. We won't have time to straighten out that family situation that you have let go, by saying "They need to come to me, they owe me an apology" They might, but go to them.  Get it straight!!

When my mom was sick, I asked her one day was she ready to meet the Lord. I figured she was, but I was asking. She said this, "I am ready, but I am in no hurry to go"  All lot of us are like that, we are ready, but in no hurry.

There was a song that I played on the radio that said "I'm not ready to go , but I'm prepared." You think of those who are left behind. We have to try to get our loved ones in so they won't be left behind.   This is where the Great Comission comes in, "to go into all the world and teach all nations".

May 21st can come and go. The question remains... are you ready?

Don't Argue Or Reason With The Devil

I was watching Jesse Duplantis last night and he was teaching on Jesus being tempted in the wilderness in Matthew chapter 4. I was reminded of something that I was working on. Class of 1975, I Graduated, Whats Next????

The class of 1975 made it through the Pomp and Circumstance” getting our high school diplomas. June 6, 1975 seems like so long ago, but at the same time it seems like it was only yesterday. SO many decisions that were made that would affect our lives forever. I don’t think that we should hold decisions made by an 18 or 19 year old accountable for the rest of their lives. I was 17 when I graduated from high school and I was a very sheltered 17 year old to say the least. I had never dated. I didn’t date until I was 21. It wasn’t a religious thing, it was more like my mind and my age finally caught up with each other. Some of our class would go to college, some would work and some went into the military. Some would do well in college, some would leave home and go wild, but would eventually settle down into a career, some would marry and divorce, others married later, some would have children and some didn’t.
