A New Song

When I woke up this morning there was a song in my head. Mike Payne had a song out in the 1990's called "Working Like The Devil For The Lord". I remember playing it and some got upset about it, using the Lord and the devil in the same sentence.  When you sit down and listen to the Words, as Christians we need to be about our Father's business.

I'm working like the devil for the Lord
I'm gonna pray like I've prayed
Walk like I've never walked
Talked like I've never talked
Preach the Word to everyone
I won't stop til Jesus comes
I've working like the devil for the Lord.

At the end of the song, there was a place where Mike was leading someone to the Lord.

I remember feeling the commitment in the song. You see, sometimes we as Christians get a little lax in our responsibilty to win the lost at any cost. The devil is never lax in his way of spreading, discouragement, pain and havoc among people.  We need to be on out job at all times to lead, inspire and birth souls in to the Kingdom of God.

Sometimes we don't get results right away, but it is our job to sow seeds.  You will sometimes get rejection; people are not rejecting you, they are rejecting the message.  Some people are so content in their dysfunction, they can't see anything else.  We still need to be viligant to pray for the lost in our familes as well as others.

I have missed oppertunities to wittness. When the Holy Spirit lets me know about this I could kick myself. We have to meet people at the point of their need. We need to be on our job. There are a lot of misconceptions about Christians out there I hear things at school. Things like Christians take different parts out of the Bible and harp on it.   Christians are judgemental. The church is out of touch.  The truth is some churches are. They have the "us four and no more" mentality, or they try to clean the fish before it is caught.  Neither attitude is good.  There is a lost and dying world out there and we have to reach out to them, and no they are not going to look like us, they have to be taught. They might smell like beer or be dirty, we have to learn how to reach them.

So we have work to do, don't we?
