Rihana graduates from college

I watched as my niece graduated from college yesterday. All of us went out to dinner afterward. I am indeed a proud aunt. Many doors will be opening for her. She isn't quite sure what she wants to do. She also faces the dilemma of most college graduates. When you go for a job, people want experience. How do you get the experience in your major, without a job. I am in the same dilemma myself, As I watched her go across the stage, my mind went back to the time she was little.

She used to spend every weekend with me, especially after the twins came. I was the first one to take her to Sunday School, and a lot of other places. Many memories flooded my min. Like when she first started climbing my steps, I had top go to a program at church and I told her we had to go, she started screaming, and I finally told her that she could come back some other time, that I was late. We did all kind of things together.  We would dance and play, I would read to her and we would talk. She used to tell me that a little girl was going to come to my house. I guess she was talking about me having a little girl. That little girl never came. I tear up as I talk about it. Then she got older. She stayed with my mom and dad for a while. She learned to take my moms blood pressure. At age eleven she was diagnosed with scoliosis and she had back surgery. Then she had to have another back surgery at age 14. She has grown up quickly. I am like most people I feel old  I just wish my mom would have lived to be part of the celebration. She lived long enough to see Rihana go off to college. I have a feeling she did see her graduate.

Even though I haven't always agreed with her way of dressing and some of her decision. I still really love her and want to the best for her.  I have to give her , her due . She will work. She started working weekends at Bob Evans at age 16. Some times she has had two jobs. She is a determined girl. She has had to be to overcome some of the things that has happened to her. So I will say ' Good Job Rihana!!!!!

May God Bless you in the next adventures in life.

  Love Ya Aunt Sandra......
