Sometimes I wonder
There is a song that we have been playing from Ernie Hause and Signature Sound Quartet called "Sometimes I Wonder". I talks about wondering what that loved one is feeling now that they are in heaven. Did they run to see jesus, or did they just stand in awe. Were they excited to find out that they were not in pain and could walk again. I thought about my mom ,Randy Warden, Dixie Farmer, Elder David Parker and Florence Smith, as well as Pat Deans husband Delano Dean. There are other things I wonder about as well. Like why is it that people can take there kids to scoccer and T-ball and sat there with them, but they can't sit through a church service. Why you can go to Wal-Mart on Sundays, but you can't go to church. Why is it when you wittness to someone about Jesus, the very one who changed your life, that people think of every rotten thing a person who claims to be a Christian has ever said or done to them.
The last one I can comment on. Just because a person goes to church and says they are a Christian does not mean that they are. Now when you say you are a Christian, in some ways it means that you are not a Muslim or Hindu or something like that. Or that you go to church. It is like in Matthew where the person asks Jesus did we not prophesy , and casty out demons in your name and the Lord looks at them and say, "sorry I never knew you, depart me form me ye workers of iniquity". We think because someone say they are a Christian that makes it so. Not really, this is one of my favorite sayings, one day Sharon was telling me about a co-worker that had done her wrong, and what she said just hit me wrong and I said this" People can say anything, I can say I am a 54 Buick, but that doesn't make it so". Thinking about that I had to laugh but it is true.
Soetimes I wonder about the state of the world we live in. We are certainly living in the last days. The Bible is fulfilling itself as we speak. People complain and are offended about anything to do with Jesus. I am offended that we cave in and let people say anything they want under the "Free Speech, except for Christians. When we say that Jesus is the only way to heaven, people are offended, well it is the truth and if you are offended oh well. I am offended at the profanity, and the nudity that is one TV, you can't watch anything without having homosexuality pushed down your throat. I don't hate homesexuals, but I don't want it in my face all of the time either. What is this world coming to , when you have to tell kids things that they are too young to hear for their own safety, but you can't tell them about Jesus because they don't understand. I like the parents that say when they get old enough they can make up their own mind. How can they, they don't have the foundation to build upon to make an informed decision.
Sometimes I wonder about my own purpose in this world. I think it is one thing and maybe it is something else. The enemy plays with me head sometimes on this. I wonder if I will ever reach my full potential in what God has called me to do. There are so many people who don't want to see you succeed. What is it to them anyway. Why do they try to block any progress you make? Why do they care if you have a new car or you drive a 54 Buick? What difference does it make. As far as that is concerned I want something that runs and can get me from point A to Point B with no hassles. I wonder at times why the Lord sent me back to where I started. Some say unfinished business there who knows. Its just that sometimes I wonder......
