Challenge Yourself

While I was cleaning up the kitchen to paint the cabinets, a process I haven't finished yet, due to schoolwork ect. I looked at some of the papers I had, some were old recipies. I found Carol Hortons noodle bake  and a few others and I also found this from a Bble study. Mom and I used to attend the Noon Bible study at Heart of God Ministries. I still do sometimes. I actually enjoy it better, but it is hard to find transportation during the day. Everyone has their routine and I feel like I am in the way, at times.

Anyway I thought that everyone would be interested in what was on my refridgerator for over three years. The paper has yellowed, but it is still easy to read.

Bishop Fred Simms - Bible Study 4-23-03

Challange yourself and memorize these rules to become the child of God desires you to become.

1. I can accomplish what I desire to do.
2. I am sharp
3.My mind is clear
4. When I do a job, I will do it right, I will do it fast, and I will do it well.
Remember four is the number is the beginning of creative works.

In order to become a consecrated vessel you must:

1. Desire to change
2. Deepen your base knowledge.
3.Be diligent. Follow though with the previous exercise.
4. Defend your mind against old thoughts, old habits, and old ways of thinking. Fight them off,
Do not let yourself fall into the old routines.
5.Dissociate. Get away from people who keep you in the old pattern, people who tell you that
you cannot change or try to keep you from changing.
6. Depend on God and positive people around you to support you.

This is good and I have kept it for the simple reason, as God moves you from one season to another season in life there are always people who don't understand what God is doing and they  (Bless their hearts they mean well) try to keep you in the old ways or want you to just give up. You really can't listen to them. Something deep inside of me wants to fight, against the old way, I want to move forward. Sometimes there are people that try to block any progress you make, but you still must move forward. Never look back. The only looking back that needs to be done, is to look where God has brought your from. That's it.

I actually got angry at someone when they asked me if I could go back on radio.  I can't go back, there are reasons.
1. God would have to open a door or make a way. He hasn't so I am not going to ask anyone.
2. I can't go back to the way things were. It was degrading as well as devestating to my health and my peace of mind. I almost had a nervous breakdown. I come home one evening and I was shaking inside. I had never felt this type of feeling before and I asked Matt to take me to BARH. He said just to wait and then he prayed. That's how bad things were.
3. You can't make someone hire you. If you do you will be sorry.

I am more than just what I did in radio. I wish people would realize that and allow me to do something else. I thought college would help, it has in many ways helped me to see that I AM more that what I used to do. There are times I have to dissociate from people or just say that my radio career was another life. It has been nearly two years now. I cannot become what God wants me to be as long as I hold on to the past.

I wanted to share the Bible study notes and I hope that they were a blessing to someone.
