Political Discussions...

I hate discussing politics.  People are very passionate about what they believe. I have seen people almost come to blows over being a Democrat or Republican.  I have friends on both sides.  I see their views to a point. I, at this time, am not loyal to either party. Both sides need to sit down and do something before the country defaults on its loans to China. If this keeps up we will be learning Chinese as the country's official language.

Charlie Rangle was on TV last week asking What Would Jesus Do? I thought this was rather strange considering that everybody spouts seperation of church and state. Which by they way is not in the U.S. Constitution. It is a letter that Thomas Jefferson wrote. They have almost removed all references of God out of the public venues. They have forbidden military chaplins to pray in the name of Jesus. Now they want to know what would Jesus do?  First of all we wouldn't have 14 trillion dollar debt. The church is supposed to take care of the orphans and widows.  Maybe some of the Christians need to get back to praying and believing God for healing; yes, God does use doctors as well, but I don't think we need to run to the emergency room if we have a hangnail either. There needs to be balance.

As I said in a post, I have never ever voted a straight ticket in my life.  The first time I voted was in 1976, I voted for Gerald Ford, in 1980 I voted for Jimmy Carter. 1984 I voted for Ronald Reagen. Some of these weren't smart choices, but I voted in some cases for the lesser of two evils. I have done the same thing with the West Virginia races. Thats the beauty of living in America, we can vote for who we see fit. We can choose to vote or not.We can let our opinions be known and hopefully respected. With some of my friends and family I can agree to disagree with hopefully no hard feelings.

There are things that have always irritated me about government.  Welfare is not supposed to be a way of life, but it is and it is almost impossible to get out of the system once you get in it. They give money to people who are able to work, but they don't want to because they get a check, health care and housing. While the able-bodied person was laying up in bed, I was getting up to be at work at 5 or 6AM. I have a disability. It was a source of pride that I could work. When I lost my job, I couldn't get any help, because I made too much money. My income was cut by 30%, but my bills weren't.   I tried to find work, but nobody even gave me a chance. Now you fill out applications online and they ask for a work history and when you put the dates down (It is a required field) they assume you are too old or want too much money. They are  talking about raising the retirement age. Well and good for some people, but nobody will hire us... I don't like that when you are disabled, you have to be disabled two years before you sign up for medicare. If you have a disabling health condition you need medical coverage.  So you go sign up for Medicaid. They talk about a spin down. Most of us don't have a clue what that is. With only my husbands income coming in and two people in our house I was told we made too much momney. Mind you, I have worked and paid into this system, where is mine when I need it? Then you have people who have never worked and they are able to get everything.

The government says we have to use florescent lightbulbs. Aren't they bad for your eyes.? I have had two cornea transplants, I am not about to put my eyes in danger. Also don't they contain Mercury?  We are told we have global warming. I saw on the weather channel, that there was a record high of 96 degrees in West Virginia set back in 1923. Have we had global warming all this time? The price of gas goes up and our President (pray for him) wants Americans to convert to electric cars. That's good if you live in the midwest or in the city. I can't imagine driving an electric across Sandstone Mountain I-64, or Bolt Mountain. We are a coal producing state, let's use what we have.  They tell us to recycle. Country people have always recycled. They use the manure to fertilize the soil for gardens. We plant gardens, and can or freeze food , that's what we have always done. Now its called the Home Farming Movement. The list goes on and on.

The government tells folks if the budget isn't balanced, that they may not be able to send out checks next month. What do we do, we fuss and blame the other party for the problem instead of getting on our face to God, that someone will have some wisdom of what to do about this impending crisis.  I am as guility as anyone. God is in control, He is not the author of confusion. We can agree to disagree. I am looking at things from being on both sides. I don't want the government in my pocketbook, that is personal and private, so are my political views...
